Private routes
Turn on Private route and the trade settles where public indexers cannot follow it. Everything else stays the same: you deposit on the source chain and receive on the destination chain, with no wrapped assets and no extra hop for you to manage.
Add "privacy": "basic" to a quote request, or "advanced". In private mode only providers with confidential settlement answer; the rest stay silent rather than quietly returning a public route.
NEAR Intents · confidential settlement
The default private rail, and effectively free: measured on a 25 USDC transfer from Arbitrum to Base, the confidential quote came back within 0.002% of the public one, with the same delivery estimate.
The swap executes on a permissioned NEAR fork whose balances and swap details are not published: deposits are shielded into it, market makers quote against private liquidity there, and the output is released on the destination chain. From the wallet's side nothing changes — one deposit, one receipt.
basic hides the trade itself. advanced shields the surrounding metadata as well. Both cost the same today.
Houdini · multi-hop private transfer
For breaking the on-chain link between two of your own addresses. Funds travel through two centralised venues, optionally via Monero, and arrive at a fresh address with no transaction path connecting it to the source. You send to a one-time deposit address, so no wallet connection or approval is needed at all.
The trade-offs are real and worth stating: fifteen to forty-five minutes instead of seconds, and roughly double the fees of a normal swap, because the route is executed twice. Use it when unlinkability is the point, not when speed is.
Available once the partner key is configured; the adapter ships disabled.
What privacy does not mean here
Qubit is a routing interface. A private route hides the link between your addresses from public chain analysis. It does not make you anonymous to the venues executing the trade, it does not evade sanctions screening, and it is not advice about your obligations wherever you live.
Points
Confidential routes earn a 1.2× multiplier, because the feature is worth using and worth paying for. See points rules.
